Click for Promotion detrails. The Tesco 'Schools and Clubs 2010' promotion is now running again with vouchers available in all Tesco stores for nine weeks from Monday 1 March until Sunday 9 May. One voucher is given for every £10 spent in Tesco stores and petrol filling stations in a single transaction.

Booklet: Fifty Years at Comberton Village College
2010 sees the 50th Anniversary of the opening of Comberton Village College: "...At 8.40 on the morning of Tuesday 5 January 1960, a sunny and relatively mild day, buses bringing children from the surrounding villages drew up outside Comberton Village College and the youngsters ran into their new school. There were 242 pupils: 145 boys and 97 girls. Many wore the school uniform selected by the Warden, Roger Adcock, and his Deputy, Nora Beaumont: royal blue blazer, mid-grey skirt, white blouse and grey cardigan for the girls, black blazer, grey trousers, white or grey shirt and grey pullover for the boys. Both boys and girls wore the school tie of grey, gold and royal blue stripes on a maroon background. A grey beret was optional for girls, a black cap for boys..."

Year 8 - List of School Trips
List of School Trips
At Comberton Village College we offer a wide range of off-site sporting, social and curriculum based activities and trips to pupils each year.
Each Year Group Team aim to organise one year group social event per term. This could be an external trip such as ice skating, swimming, bowling, theme park or an on-site activity such as a disco or barbecue. Activities Week offers activities both on and off-site ranging from sports to full international trips.
List of School Trips (.pdf)
There are many more 'one-off' local and UK wide trips that take place throughout the year – parents are advised of these as and when they occur.

Year 8 - Candlelit Dinner and Disco
Dear Parents/Carers,
I am writing to inform you that we have organised a Candlelit Dinner and Disco for Year 8 pupils which is to be held on Thursday 28 January in the school Dining Hall. This has been organised in anticipation of Valentine’s Day and the Dining Hall will be decorated accordingly and tables set in restaurant style.
The evening will start at 6.30pm with a three course meal, followed by a Disco, which will finish at 9.00pm. The cost of the evening is £9.00 inclusive; any surplus money from this event will be donated to our chosen charity ‘Childline’.
Pupils are asked to wear smart clothes in order to fit in with the formal nature of the event. This means ties for the boys and elegant clothes for the girls; no trainers please. Ties will be lent to any boys who come dressed without one.
If you would like your child to take part in this event, please fill in the permission slip (sent by ParentMail) and confirm menu choice then
return it with payment to the FINANCE OFFICE as soon as possible. If paying by cheque please write your child’s name, tutor group and ‘Year 8 Candlelit Dinner’ on the reverse and make it payable to Comberton Village College. Tickets will then be issued, which will need to be shown on the door on that evening.

  Year 8 - Feedback from Beaumanor 2009
Following concern expressed by two parents at the Year 8 Parents' Liaison Group meeting last month we put together a questionnaire to get some feedback on Beaumanor 2009. It was felt that it would be useful for the teachers planning for next year. 219 pupils filled in the questionnaire, so this isn't everyone who went to Beaumanor, but it is possible to get a flavour of their feelings towards the week. Overall, these feelings were incredibly positive as you can see from the results.
